| A certified
translation is a fully checked, professional, quality translation,
in relation to which the translator declares that he or she is fluent
in both the source and the target language(s), and certifies under
penalty of perjury that the translation is complete and accurate
to the best of the translator’s knowledge and ability. It is suitable
for official purposes and for submission to governmental bodies
and other authorities.
BTS can provide a certified translation
of any document, although certified translations are primarily issued
for submission to US authorities and professional licensing bodies
and institutions. For example, the INS
requires certified translations of foreign language documents for
the purposes of obtaining a visa or for immigration purposes; certified
translations are also required to obtain citizenship or for the
accreditation of academic qualifications.
Our certified translations are accepted by all major government
and educational agencies and departments, including:
Immigration and Naturalization Service
Department
of Internal Affairs
Police
Justice
Department and the Courts
Universities
and other educational organizations
Embassies
and consulates
Boards
Some of these institutions, especially certain Boards, require
sworn or notarized translations. A notarized
translation is a translation that is signed and dated by the translator
in the presence of a notary public. For example, many boards
require notarized translations of academic records and credentials.
Please note that their instructions can be quite detailed; some
institutions require each page to be signed, dated and notarized,
and others require an overall notarization. Please make sure you
fully inform us of the specific instructions you have received when
requesting a notarized translation. Interested?
