When is a Summary Translation appropriate?
A summary translation is appropriate when:

You know that a certain document is relevant, and you only want to know what it says in general terms, without entering into detail, or

A full translation is not necessary and you are subject to time constraints and budget limitations.

Advantages of a Summary Translation:

Cost Effective: A Summary Translation offers a considerable cost saving over a full translation and excellent value for money.

Time Saving: A Summary Translation is produced much more quickly than a full translation.

Translation Upgrades: An upgrade to a full translation later is available if required.

Summary Translations are difficult to do well. Not all translators are trained to summarize and produce a good overview and the information to be included in a summary is subject to the translator's own judgment. There is a risk that factors you consider important may be overlooked. BTS will carefully select a translator for this task, who does not only translate well, but also has experience with these types of translations
